Join us outside St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls at 10am and then later in front of Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire at noon Friday to PROTEST the proposed cuts and demand that the Senate PROTECT our rural hospitals!

On March 22, 2024, St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls and Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire closed forever. Declining Medicaid coverage was a key reason for that loss. Those closures were hard on this area, it left Mayo Hospital with the overwhelming responsibility for the emergency medicine and healthcare for this part Wisconsin.

Under enormous pressure, Mayo Hospital and Clinic has risen to the challenge and is brilliantly serving our community. It’s a heavy burden and their resources are stretched but are THE healthcare leader in this area.

And now, the Senate has made the horrible Reconciliation Bill EVEN WORSE with draconian cuts that will severely harm our few remaining hospitals and put unbearable stress on those remaining. Smaller hospitals like Durand may face closure. We need to speak up NOW.
