The Memorial High School Dems met Sept 28 for an ice cream social at the DRC. Co-President and contributor Kana Rasmussen, a sophomore, writes about each member who attended, and the issue(s) most important to them as Democrats.

Elsie’s is Gun Reform and keeping weapons out of schools so everyone can feel safe while getting their education.

Josie’s is Immigration and the injustice happening in those systems. 

Nadean and Ashlee’s are Mass Deportations and immigration policies.

Henry’s is Climate Change.

Allison’s and Kana’s are Preserving Nature and our waterways, oceans, and lakes and Paying Our Workers Liveable Wages.

Maia’s is Women’s Reproductive Rights.

Lily’s is getting Accurate Information in Healthcare out to the public (and to stop spreading misinformation!)

Lucia’s is Environmentalism. 

Aleah’s is Special Needs Education because it doesn’t get nearly enough support and the education of everyone is so important. 

Lucy’s is Human Rights.
