EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF EAU CLAIRE COUNTY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE POSITIONS

The duties of each of the officers are as follows:

Chair: to preside at all meetings, to enforce observance of the Constitution, to decide all questions of order, to offer for consideration all motions regularly made, to call all meetings, to appoint committees not otherwise provided for, and to perform such other duties as the office may require. S/he shall be an ex-officio member of all committees.

1st Vice Chair: act as Chairperson in case Chairperson resigns or is absent, fulfill the unexpired term of the Chairperson in the event the Chairperson is unable to perform the duties of the Chair.

2nd Vice Chair: shall perform duties as assigned by the Chair, assume the duties of the 1st Chairperson in the absence or resignation of the 1st Vice Chairperson.

Secretary: keep a record of all the proceedings of meetings, keep a record of all motions and shall have charge of all books, documents and papers belonging to the organization. The Secretary shall notify each member of date, time, location and nature of each meeting. In addition, s/he shall be responsible for current contact and ward information for all members.

Treasurer: receive all money belonging to the Democratic Party of Eau Claire County, keep an account of all dues and receipts and expenditures, and deposit all money in the bank designated by the organization.

At-Large Members: shall perform duties as assigned by the Chair, such as chairing or participating in committees, organizing Eau Claire County Democratic events, representing ECC Dems at events, etc.

All members of the Executive Committee are required to attend two-thirds of regularly scheduled Executive Committee meetings and one-half of general membership meetings. Executive Committee meetings are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month. General membership meetings are scheduled for the third Thursday of each month. Attendance may be in person or via electronic means.

Chair, 1st Vice Chair, and Treasurer are elected for 2-year terms in even numbered years.

2nd Vice Chair and Secretary are elected for 2-year terms in odd numbered years.

At-large members are elected for 3-year terms, with two members elected each year.
