EC Dem Executive Committee Candidate Statements
Statements by candidates for Executive Committee Positions
FOR: Secretary, Executive Committee
SHARON DILLON
I've been a Wisconsin resident since 1984. I've raised five kids to adulthood here and I have nine grandchildren growing up here. In 1994 I graduated from CVTC, and I've also taken classes at UWEC. August 7, 2024 changed my life. That was the day of the Harris-Walz rally. It gave me hope. So when I got the Mobilize link telling me there was a phonebank at the Dem office, I didn't hesitate. I drove right over. And I'm still here, volunteering for committees, and running for Secretary because this party has given me a new life, and I want to give back.
2nd Vice Chair, Executive Committee
NICK SEMINGSON
Hello, my name is Nick Semingson. I am running for the position of 2nd Vice Chair of the ECCD Executive Committee.
My wife Tiffany and I have lived in Eau Claire for over seven years and I work in my hometown, Strum, as an IT-Network technician. We both attended UW-La Crosse and CVTC.
My first contact with the Eau Claire County Dems came last year after Trump's election win, which strongly motivated me to tirelessly canvass rural doors for Susan Crawford. I also volunteer with the ECC Dems at Sojourner House every month and I attend the ECCD monthly meetings as often as I can.
I specifically canvassed rural communities for Justice Crawford because I strongly believe we need to be much more visible in communities like Eleva-Strum, Drammen, and Osseo-Fairchild. Through canvassing and working in these areas, I've met so many people, Democrats and Independents, who are scared or angry and looking to help, but don't know how. Let's reach out and give them a lifeline.
FOR: At Large Member, Executive Committee
BONNIE FISHER
Fellow Dems, I am Bonnie Fisher, a retired Special Education teacher from Eau Claire School District. I have been an active participant in the Eau Claire County Democratic Party, beginning with canvassing for Russ Feingold in the late ‘90s and Al Gore in the early 2000s. I have canvassed for at least 16 candidates running for local, state or federal offices. Prior to COVID, I organized Dem volunteers who canvassed Altoona in 2019 for 2020 Presidential Election. After COVID hit, I delivered yard signs for a state office candidate running, helped with 2 virtual Holiday Parties, and drove a canvasser in 2022.
Over these many years I have organized and worked to promote Democratic values and establish positive Dems’ presence in our community though events such as Dems’ Annual Picnics and Holiday Parties, Hmong New Year Celebrations, and International Fall Festivals, and more. Currently I organize the Dems’ Annual Picnic in August. I have served on the Eau Claire County Democratic Committee since 2013 and wish to continue to serve another term. I would appreciate your vote in December.
DYLAN VANGSNESS
I am a graduate of UW-Eau Claire, I have served as the Secretary of the Executive Committee since December of 2023. From Spring 2024 through Spring 2025, I was a WisDems organizer working for Eau Claire County and beyond. Currently, I am in Madison, working as a legislative staffer for Rep. Jodi Emerson until I return to Eau Claire full time to manage Rep. Jodi Emerson's reelection campaign. I want to continue to serve on the Executive Committee of the Eau Claire County Democratic Party and to use my experiences in campaigns to elect democrats.
