CELEBRATE: Wisconsin and the Rest of the Nation Turned Blue
The Blue Tsunami landed in Wisconsin and across the nation Tuesday night. We here in the Chippewa Valley celebrate the reelection of Sen. Jeff Smith (SD 31), Rep. Jodi Emerson (AD 91), and Rep. Christian Phelps (AD 93). We celebrate the election of Jeremiah Fredrickson to represent AD 92. These victories and others across Wisconsin mean we will have a Democratic majority in both the Wisconsin Senate and the Wisconsin Assembly. The frosting on our trifecta cake is that all of Wisconsin's Executive team are Democrats: Gov. Crowley, Lt. Gov. Godlewski, Attorney General Josh Kaul, Treasurer Yee Leng Xiong, and Secretary of State JoCasta Zamarripa.
Wisconsin also can celebrate that we helped flip the US House of Representatives by flipping two Congressional Districts: Democrat Mitchell Berman defeated Republican Brian Steil in CD 1, and Democrat Rebecca Cooke defeated Republican Derrick Van Orden in CD 3. Berman and Cooke join Democrats Mark Pocan (CD 2) and Gwen Moore (CD 4) in holding half of Wisconsin's 8 Congressional seats.
